Samuel L. Schad

Social Security Case Manager

Samuel Schad works in the area of Social Security Disability claims.  He has overseen the tripling of the firm’s caseload in this area since first focusing on disability claims in 1995.  He is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s SSD practice, from handling initial phone calls to the briefing of cases for Federal Court review.

In 2005, he became the first non-attorney representative in the region to be eligible for the Social Security Administration’s “Non-Attorney Direct Payment Demonstration Project.”  Participants in the project must complete a testing administered by the SSA, undergo a background check, have a bachelor’s degree and participate in continuing legal education.  He has been a member of the National Association of Social Security Claimant's Representatives since 1996.

Sam is a vociferous advocate for the disabled and volunteers his time among various medical support groups in the region. He is available as a guest lecturer on the topic of disability in general, how to prepare for a transition from work  to disability, and issues related to management of Social Security claims in a small office environment.

Over the years (and decades), we have come to realize that there is actually very little advice that a disabled individual can get before they apply for Social Security disability benefits.   As mentioned in a previous posting, we accept cases prior to the initial application for disability all the time, even in situations where there is a chance we might not get reimbursed for our efforts.
